OCVTS and Partners Networking Event (October 2024)

It was so much more than just a networking event! The Ocean County Vocational Technical School, in partnership with PWC NJ and PWBGS (Professional Women in Building of the Garden State) hosted an engaging interactive event at the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Activity Center in Farmingdale. The morning kicked off with a breakfast panel moderated by HC Constructor’s Lisa Chowansky, where students listened to experienced panelists and had the opportunity to ask questions. After the panel, students explored booths from union representatives to learn more about career opportunities in the trades.
The aim of the event was to highlight the diverse opportunities available for women in the trades to both students and faculty. The turnout was very impressive, with union representatives, engineers, architects, project managers, and safety and marketing professionals sharing their insights and experiences with the young women in attendance - over 80 female students from Ocean, Monmouth, and Middlesex Counties, all enrolled in construction-related career training programs, were in attendance.
